How It Happened

The Patriots jumped out of the gate quickly as Joy Brockmann passed the ball up to Kristina Syragakis who sent it into the net to give them a 1-0 goal advantage just over three minutes into the first half.  Francis Marion continued to challenge with shots by Izzy Ashley and Ashley Jordan, but Amanda Magnin and the Warriors defense were able to thwart each of the attacks to prevent the Patriots from extending their lead further.  Jessie Parrott raced down the field with the ball just eleven minutes into the half and took a shot on the goal, but Patriots' goalkeeper, Erin Grabeel prevented the attack from paying off.  Tehya Dave looked to extend the Francis Marion lead with a shot on the goal, but Amanda Magnin dove in front of the shot to knock it away from the goal.  Southern Wesleyan countered with an attack on the goal of their own, but Fianna Steves' shot on the goal was thwarted by Grabeel.

Francis Marion continued their intensity in the second half as Ashley Jordan sent the ball up the field to Kristina Syragakis.  Syragakis got the ball past Amanda Magnin to score her second goal of the game.  Francis Marion pushed on with goals by Tehya Dave and Syragakis.  The Patriots continued to pepper the Southern Wesleyan defense, but Amanda Magnin and the defense stood strong to prevent them from extending on their lead further.  Francis Marion went on to win the game in a 4-0 final score.
