Anderson, SC – Southern Wesleyan had several individuals finish in the top ten and hit personal records at the Electric City Invite over the weekend.

Track Results
100m: In the 100 meters, Makayla Wilson finished with a time of 12.20 to take sixth. TraVon Lay finished in 13th with a time of 12.82 and Cianna Laginestra took 15th with a time of 12.88. Meshayla Maddox wrapped up the field for the Warriors as she took 23rd with a time of 13.39.
100mh: TraVon Lay led the Warriors in the 100 meter hurdles as her time of 15.38 put her in 10th place. She was followed by junior Kayla Lema who took 15th with a time of 15.88.
200m: Meshayla Maddox finished in 21st with a time of 28.03 in the 200 meters.
400m: Southern Wesleyan had two Warriors finish in the top 10 in the 400 meters. Lauryn Tate took eighth with a time of 1:01.63 and Alyse Davis took ninth with a time of 1:01.67.
400mh: Kayla Lema finished in third place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.87.
800m: In the 800 meters, Evelyn Gordon led the Warriors as she finished in eighth place with a time of 2:24.13. Hitting her own PR, Merritt Smith finished in 14th with a time of 2:29.80.
Mile: Emma Dixon led the Warriors in the mile. She hit a PR with a time of 5:45.50 to put her in eighth place. She was followed by her sister, Janey Dixon, who took 18th place with a time of 6:00.93. Haley Morgan took 22nd with a time of 6:12.91.
5000m: In the 5000 meters, Divinity Ervin took 23rd with a time of 21:01.33.
4x400m Relay: The Warriors team of Kayla Lema, Lauryn Tate, Evelyn Gordon, and Alyse Davis took fourth with a time of 4:06.22.
4x100m Relay: Southern Wesleyan's team of Alyse Davis, Makayla Wilson, Lauryn Tate and Cianna Laginestra finished in sixth place with a time of 49.32.
Field Results
Discus: Gracie Wilson led the whole field in the discus throw as he threw a distance of 39.19m which allowed her to take first place. Behind here were teammates Layla-Gray Bennett and Alexandria Luther. Bennett finished in 11th with a throw of 29.23m and Luther claimed 12th with a throw of 29.05m.
Hammer: In the hammer throw, Alexandria Luther finished in 11th place after throwing a distance of 35.62m. She was followed by Lakin Long who took 19th with a time of 29.86m.
High Jump: Gavi Elswick took seventh in the high jump as she cleared a height of 1.45m.
Javelin: The Warriors were led by Gracie Wilson in the javelin. Wilson threw a distance of 31.86m to take eighth. Alexandria Luther was the next Warrior to finish as she threw a distance of 30.40m to put her in 10th place. Lakin Long wrapped up the field for the Warriors as she took 16th place with a throw of 27.84m.
Long Jump: In the long jump, Makayla Wilson finished in seventh place with a jump of 5.15m. Wilson was followed by Zy'Adriya Johnson who claimed 14th with a jump of 4.69m.
Shot Put: Alexandria Luther took 13th with a throw of 10.04m.
Triple Jump: Zy'Adriya Johnson finished in 12th in the tiple jump with a jump of 10.40m.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will travel to Cullowhee, NC on April 19-20 to take part in the Western Carolina Invitational. They will then travel to Myrtle Beach, SC to take part in the Conference Carolinas outdoor Championship on April 26-27.
