3000m Steeplechase: Senior Abbey Frock led the whole field in the steeplechase as she took first place with a time of 12:17.03.
1500m: Evelyn Gordon took third place in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:58.61. Gordon was followed by Merritt Smith who took seventh place with a time of 5:11.08. Emma Dixon took tenth with a time of 5:18.69. Finishing in 13th was freshman Divinity Ervin who crossed the line with a time of 5:30.35. Haley Morgan and Janey Dixon were the next two Warriors to finish. Morgan took 16th with a time of 5:37.68 and Dixon took 18th with a time of 5:49.39. Gisselle Lopez took 21st with a time of 6:26.50.
100m Hurdles: In the 100 meters hurdles, TraVon Lay took third place with a time of 14.92. Lay was followed by Kayla Lema who took fifth with a time of 15.86.
400m: Freshman Alyse Davis led the Warriors in the 400 meters. Davis took 10th with a time of 1:02.25. She was followed by Lauryn Tate who took 11th with a time of 1:02.42.
100m: Makayla Wilson was the first Warrior to finish in the 100 meters. Wilson took second with a time of 12.44. Cianna Laginestra and Meshayla Maddox were the next two Warriors to finish. Laginestra took 10th with a time of 13.17 and Maddox finished in 17th with a time of 13.84.
800m: In the 800 meters, Evelyn Gordon took third with a time of 2:25.53. Gordon was followed by Gisselle Lopez who took 22nd with a time of 3:10.54.
400m Hurdles: Kayla Lema took third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.95. Lema was followed by Alana Webster in 12th with a time of 1:26.68.
200m: Makayla Wilson led the whole field in the 200 meters. Wilson's time of 25.36 allowed her to take first. Lauryn Tate was the next Warrior as her time of 27.06 to take seventh. Meshayla Maddox took 16th with a time of 28.96 and Alana Webster took 22nd with a time of 30.54.
3000m: The Warriors were led by Merritt Smith in the 3000 meters as her time of 11:09.06 allowed her to take first. Smith was followed by Divinity Ervin who finished with a time of 12:27.02 to take fourth.
4x400 Meter Relay: Southern Wesleyan's team of Alyse Davis, Lauryn Tate, Evelyn Gordon and TraVon Lay took second with a time of 4:05.69.
Field Results
Javelin: Gracie Wilson led the Warriors in the javelin as she took second place with a throw of 32.17m. She was followed by teammate Alexandria Luther. Luther took fourth place with a throw of 30.09m. Finishing in seventh was Lakin Long who threw a distance of 28.59m.
Long Jump: In the long jump, Makayla Wilson took fifth place as she jumped a distance of 5.51m. Zy'Adriya Johnson finished in 13th place after her jump of 4.82m and Alana Webster claimed 20th with a jump of 4.36m.
Hammer: Alexandria Luther finished the hammer throw in eighth place after her throw of 36.53m. In 22nd place was senior Lakin Long after her throw of 28.80m.
High Jump: In the high jump, Gavi Elswick took fifth after she cleared a height of 1.45m.
Shot Put: The Warriors were led by Alexandria Luther in the shot put as she threw 9.68 meters to put her in 12th place.
Discus: Gracie Wilson led the whole field in the discus as her throw of 39.54m to take first. She was followed by Layla-Grey Bennett who took ninth with a throw of 31.05m.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will then travel to Anderson, SC on April 12-13 to take part in the Electric City Invite. The Warriors will take part in the Western Carolina Invitational on April 19-20.
