Montreat, NC – Southern Wesleyan takes top spots at Montreat Invitational over the weekend.

Track Results
100m: Makayla Wilson led the Warriors in the 100 meters as she finished with a time of 12.58 which allowed her to finish in eighth place. Wilson was followed closely by Sarah Richardson. Richardson took 15th with a time of 12.86. Meshayla Maddox wrapped up the field for the Warriors as she finished with a time of 13.89 to take 33rd place.
100m Hurdles: TraVon Lay took eighth with a time of 15.87. Lay was followed by Kayla Lema. Lema took 11th with a time of 16.26.
200m: In the 200 meters, Makayla Wilson took fifth with a time of 25.82. Finishing in 21st, Alyse Davis finished with a time of 27.20. TraVon Lay and Meshayla Maddox were the next two Warriors to finish. Lay took 25th with a time of 27.66 and Maddox took 33rd with a time of 29.10.
400m Hurdles: Kayla Lema led the whole field in the 400 meter hurdles as she took first with a time of 1:09.11.
800m: The Warriors were led by freshman Evelyn Gordon in the 800 meters as she took eighth with a time of 2:23.38. Gordon was followed by Merritt Smith who took 29th with a time of 2:33.21. Emma Dixon and Abbey Frock were the next two Warriors to finish. Dixon took 34th with a time of 2:35.65 and Frock took 35th with a time of 2:36.09. Divinity Ervin finished in 40th with a time of 2:39.64. Janey Dixon and Gisselle Lopez wrapped up the field for the Warriors. Dixon finished in 42nd with a time of 2:41.36 and Lopez took 54th with a time of 3:08.62.
1500m: In the 1500 meter, Evelyn Gordon took 15th with a time of 4:58.04. Abbey Frock took 32nd with a time of 5:13.58.
Field Results
Discus: Southern Wesleyan was led in the discus by freshman Gracie Wilson. Wilson took 18th after throwing a distance of 31.61m. She was followed by senior Lakin Long in 40th with a throw of 24.10m.
Javelin: In the javelin, Gracie Wilson took fifth place after throwing a distance of 33.78m. Wilson was closely followed by fellow freshman Alexandria Luther who took eighth with a throw of 30.50m. Lakin Long took 16th after throwing a distance of 25.30m.
Long Jump: Sophomore Makayla Wilson finished in 13th with a distance of 4.97m.
Shot Put: Southern Wesleyan's Alexandria Luther took 17th in the shot put with a throw of 10.01m.
Triple Jump: In the triple jump, Zy'Adriya Johnson finished in 10th with a jump of 10.33m.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will return to Central, SC on March 29 as they host the Gotta Run Invite. They will then travel to Anderson, SC to take part in the Electric City Invite. They will wrap up the regular season on April 19-20 as they take part in the Western Carolina Invitational in Cullowhee, NC.
