Tigerville, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell on the road to the North Greenville Crusaders on Wednesday evening in a 79-68 final score.
The Warriors shot 33.3% from the field and were 75% from the free throw line. Four Warriors posted double digits in the loss with Lexi Greffen leading the team with 17 points. Tristen Berry (15), Kaliah Kendrick (13) and Shelby Glance (10) also scored double digits. Of the 11 assists, Greffen and Alexis Glover each had three. Berry followed with two.
Defensively, the Warriors collected 36 rebounds. Shelby Glance and Alexis Glover each had seven boards. Glance and Jordan Race had the lone blocks. Southern Wesleyan stole the ball 11 times with Lexi Greffen leading the team with five.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan took the first points of the game off a three pointer by Kaliah Kendrick, however North Greenville countered as Abi Oates fired off a three of her own. Lexi Greffen passed the ball to Shelby Glance who put up a jump shot to put the Warriors back on top. Kendrick stepped beyond the arc and sunk her second three pointer in as many minutes. The Crusaders continued to counter the Warriors attacks as a three by Oates tied the game up. Glance sent the ball beyond the arc to Tristen Berry who put the ball up for a three. Lexi Greffen stole the ball and raced down the court to lay the ball up into the basket.
North Greenville tied the game up once again in the second quarter as Austin Johnson put up a jump shot. They pushed on to take the lead on free throws by Geassy Germano. Southern Wesleyan came back to within one point of the Crusaders on a three pointer by Shelby Glance. The Crusaders pushed on with back-to-back baskets by Germano and Greyson Boone. Dynasty Shegog laid the ball up into the basket from in the paint. The Crusaders would not relent as a layup by Germano extended their lead to eight points. Tristen Berry passed the ball out to Rahkhia Mack. Mack stepped beyond the arc and hit a three pointer. The Crusaders led 39-32 going into the locker room.
The Warriors attacked quickly in the third quarter on a jump shot by Shelby Glance. However, three pointers by Greyson Boone and Abi Oates allowed the Crusaders to extend their lead to eleven points. Lexi Greffen stole the ball once again and race down the court to put up a jump shot. A second jump shot by Greffen put the Warriors back within nine. The Warriors continued to chip away at the Crusaders lead as more baskets by Greffen put them behind the Crusaders 49-44.
A foul on a shot sent Asia Pearly to the free throw line early in the final quarter of play. Pearly hit one of her free throws to keep the Warriors within five of the Crusaders. Southern Wesleyan stayed within striking distance of the Crusaders on baskets by Shelby Glance and Tristen Berry. Angie Rodriguez laid the ball up into the basket to maintain the Crusaders eight point lead. With five minutes on the clock, Asia Pearly laid the ball up into the basket. North Greenville would not relent as they won the game in a 79-68 final score.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will remain on the road on February 10 as they travel to Wilson, NC to take on the Barton Bulldogs. They will return to Historic Tysinger Gymnasium on February 14 as they host the Young Harris Mountain Lions. The Warriors will remain at home on February 17 as they host the Converse Valkyries.
