Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan took down the Erskine Flying Fleet on Thursday evening in a 2-1 final score.
The Warriors took 17 shots with 10 being on goal. Ella McCowen led the team with three shots on goal. McCowen was followed by Wynn Bradley who had two shots on goal. Both Alli Dalton and Taylor Carper each scored in the contest. Carper and Madelyn Graf picked up assists.
Southern Wesleyan picked up four corner kicks during the competition. Amanda Magnin played all ninety minutes in goal for the Warriors and recorded seven saves.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan went on the attack early as Alli Dalton took a shot on the goal. The Flying Fleet countered as Selma McMurry and Kerstin Rudolfsson sent the ball toward the goal, but Amanda Magnin saved the ball from reaching the back of the net. The Warriors persisted as Taylor Carper took a corner kick and sent the ball in toward the net. Alli Dalton headed the ball into the goal to put the Warriors on top by one. The Warriors would not relent as Madelyn Graf passed the ball up to Taylor Carper who scored to give the Warriors a 2-0 goal advantage. Southern Wesleyan continued to pepper the goal with shots by Ella McCowen, but Valentina Santana and the Flying Fleet defense saved the ball from finding the net. Erskine got on the board as Rebekah Wiles got past the Warriors' defense to score.
The Warriors continued their offensive attacks in the second half as Madilyn Moles and Ella Beasley each sent the ball to the goal, but Valentina Santana saved the ball from reaching the net. Erskine countered as Clair Lewis and Jordan Schuhlein sent the ball to the net, but they just missed finding the net. Amanda Magnin dove on the next attack by Lewis to keep the Flying Fleet from tying the match up. Southern Wesleyan continued to challenge the Flying Fleet defense as Wynn Bradley and Madelyn Graf each looked to extend the Warriors lead further, but Santana saved the attack from finding the net. The Warriors went on to claim a 2-1 victory over the Flying Fleet.
