Warriors Fall to Tornado in Final Game of the Season

Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the King Tornado in a 1-0 final score on Sunday afternoon.

The Warriors took seven shots with one being on goal in the loss to the Tornado.  Bailey Meyer led the team with three shots.  The lone shot on goal came from Karina Pashkovets.

Southern Wesleyan collected four corner kicks compared to the one corner kick had by King.  Katelyn O'Neill played all ninety minutes in goal had had six saves.

How It Happened

The Tornado attacked quickly as just over a minute into the game Ella Froehlich scored to give King the advantage.  Southern Wesleyan challenged as Alli Dalton sent a rocket toward the goal, but it ricocheted off of the woodwork.  King continued to challenge the Warriors defense as Catherine Domecq sent the ball toward the net, but Katelyn O'Neill saved the attack from paying off.  Ashley Caballero and Bailey Meyer each attempted to equalize the game, but neither of their attacks found the net.

Catherine Domecq attacked the net once again, but Katelyn O'Neill saved her attack from meeting the net once again.  The Tornado continued to pressure the Warriors' defense as Ella Froehlich took several more shots on the goal.  Bailey Meyer's shot hit off the woodwork.  The Warriors pressed on as Karina Pashkovets sent the ball toward the net, but Olivia Seston collected the ball to keep Southern Wesleyan from equalizing the game.  Despite late shots by Miley Tjoelker and Bailey Meyer, the Warriors fell to the Tornado in a 1-0 final score.
