Coach Meneses says...
"This was a hard fought, very evenly matched game.  Our defense was again very strong, which helped us get forward a bit more in the second half to find the equalizer.  A fair result overall and very proud on how much effort, heart and progress our players are displaying each game."

How It Happened

Chowan came out fast in the first half as Abigail Simon, Laura Hulme, Regan Jackson and Natasha Bailey each took shots on the net, but Katelyn O'Neill and the Warriors defense thwarted each of their attempts on gaining the upper hand.  Ashley Cerqueira drove toward the net to take a shot, but Kirsten Petersen prevented her attack from landing.  The Hawks gained the upper hand as Laura Hulme scored to give Chowan a 1-0 goal lead.

The Hawks continued to push as Laura Hulme took another shot on the net, but it ricocheted off the woodwork.  Alli Dalton drove to the net in an attempt to allow the Warriors to equalize, but Kirsten Petersen dove on the ball to prevent Dalton's attack from finding the net.  Southern Wesleyan would not relent as Madilyn Moles and Ella Beasley each took shots on the net.  With just under four minutes left on the clock, Alli Dalton took a corner kick for the Warriors.  Dalton sent the ball in and Karina Pashkovets headed it into the goal to allow the game to end in a 1-1 draw.
