Coach Meneses says…

"We played a controlled game and we were patient throughout.  Our goals came at the right time, and we were able to rotate our lineup after playing four games this week.  Now for a few days to rest before our next challenge."

How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan went on the attack early on in the match as Alli Dalton and Ashley Caballero sent the ball toward the net, but their shots would not land.  Jessie Parrott sent the ball to the bottom center of the net, but Karis Ecclaston dove on top of it to keep the Warriors off the board.  The Warriors would not relent their attacks as Dalton, Parrott, Caballero and Bailey Meyer each sent the ball to the net, but Ecclaston and the Hawks defense stood strong.  Jessie Parrott flipped the ball over to Ashley Cerqueira who drove it into the net to give the Warriors a 1-0 goal advantage in the first half.  Shorter countered with an attack of their own, but Amanda Magnin defended the net to prevent them from cutting into the Warriors lead.

Southern Wesleyan picked up from where they left off in the second half as Ella McCowen sent the ball toward the net, but Karis Eccleston was there to save the attack.  Ten minutes into the second half, Jessie Parrott took the ball all the way to the net to extend Southern Wesleyan's lead to 2-0.  The Warriors continued their pressure on the Hawks back line with shots by Ella Beasley and Ashley Cerqueira, but neither attack found the back of the net.  The Warriors sent the ball in off a corner kick and Karina Pashkovets was able to collect the ball before sending it into the goal to give the Warriors a 3-0 goal victory over the Hawks.
