How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan charged out of the gate as Brody Schroeder and Leonardo Flores each took shots on the goal, but Rasmus Berg saved each of the attacks.  The Warriors would not relent as several more Warriors attacked the net.  However, the Hawks defense stood strong to thwart each attack.  A foul in the box sent Feren Núñez to the penalty mark where he scored the first goal of the afternoon for the Warriors.  Shorter equalized the game minutes later as a foul in the box sent Miguel Souza to the penalty mark to score and tie the game up.  With under ten minutes left in the half, a card in the box sent the Hawks back to the penalty mark.  Charles Garcia scored the penalty goal to give Shorter the advantage going into the locker room.

The Warriors pushed on in the second half as Noah Koch drilled the ball toward the goal, but his shot was blocked by the Hawks defense.  Another foul by the Hawks in the box sent the Feren Núñez back to the penalty mark.  Núñez sent the ball into the bottom of the net to equalize the game back up at 2-2.  Southern Wesleyan pressed on as they fought to gain the advantage with shots by Tipton Wright and Feren Núñez, but Rasmus Berg and the Shorter defense deterred each of the attacks.  The Warriors continued to pepper the goal with shots by Noah Koch and Brody Schroeder.  Despite the attacks, the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
