Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan took down the Bob Jones Bruins on Tuesday evening in an 85-53 final score.
The Warriors shot 43.9% from the field and were 70% from the free throw line. They went on to total 48 rebounds in the game. Shelby Glance picked up a double-double on the game as she led the team in points with 20 and rebounds with 11. Behind Glance, Alexis Glover picked up 14 points, Asia Pearly recorded 13 and Lexi Greffen had 10. Southern Wesleyan picked up 22 assists with Greffen leading the team with five. Tristen Berry was right on her heels with four assists. Both Glance and Glover had two blocks. The Warriors stole the ball 14 times during the game.

How It Happened
The Bruins took the first points of the game on free throws by Catherine Skebo and Katarina Tabora. Bob Jones pushed on, keeping the Warriors off the board until a three pointer by Tristen Berry allowed Southern Wesleyan to cut their lead in half. The Bruins would not relent as Julia Weigle sunk a three. The Warriors battled back as Rahkhia Mack stole the ball and took it down the court for a layup. Dynasty Shegog followed with a steal of her own. Shegog sent the ball beyond the arc to Jordan Race who put up a three. The Warriors took the lead as Asia Pearly was fouled on a layup to earn the and-one basket.
Alexis Glover kicked off the second quarter with back-to-back baskets to extend the Warriors lead to five. A layup by Bria Dickenson put the Bruins back within three, but it was short lived as Tristen Berry stepped beyond the arc and hit her second three of the evening. Alexis Glover stole the ball away and took it down the court for a layup. With just under six minutes on the clock, Catherine Skebo collected a pass from Annie Miller and hit a three pointer. However, the Warriors pushed on with a three pointer by Shelby Glance. Layups by Asia Pearly and Lexi Greffen pushed the Warriors lead to fifteen with just over a minute on the clock. The Warriors led 39-27 going into the locker room.
Bob Jones started the third quarter with a jump shot by Annie Miller to put the Bruins back within ten points of the Warriors. Southern Wesleyan pushed on as Kaliah Kendrick and Alexis Glover hit back-to-back layups. Shelby Glance hit another three pointer off a pass from Lexi Greffen. Bob Jones challenged back as free throws by Bria Dickinson kept them within ten. The Warriors would not relent their attacks as Rahkhia Mack and Taylin Smith each hit jump shots. Asia Pearly collected a pass from Smith and put up a jump shot to extend the Warriors lead to twenty.
The Bruins challenged with a jump shot by Julia Weiglein the final quarter, but layups by Shelby Glance and Lexi Greffen allowed the Warriors to maintain a fourteen point lead. Glance scored the next six points for the Warriors to put them on top 68-48. With just under six minutes on the clock, Alexis Glover passed the ball out to S'Moriayh Rice who stepped beyond the arc to sink a three. Greffen stole the ball away from the Bruins and passed it down the court to Tristen Berry. Berry laid the ball into the basket to give the Warriors a twenty-five point lead. The Warriors would not back down as Glover, Glance and Nyah Garner each put up shots. Southern Wesleyan went on to win the game in an 85-53 final score.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will enter a travel period as they journey to Florence, SC on February 3 to take on the Francis Marion Patriots. They will then travel on February 7 to take on the North Greenville Crusaders and February 10 to take on the Barton Bulldogs. The Warriors will return home on February 14 to host the Young Harris Mountain Lions.
