How It Happened
The Mountain Lions attacked quickly as back-to-back goals by Anita Roese and Alexis Scarpinato put them on top. Southern Wesleyan countered with shots by Madelyn Graf, but Mckenna Peaster prevented the Warriors' attacks from paying off. The Warriors took more shots off the boot of Graf, but each attack was thwarted. A yellow card in the box allowed the Mountain Lions to take a penalty kick to score the third goal.
Young Harris would not relent in the second half with shots by Shania Harris and Maya Cramer, but Amanda Magnin stook strong in the goal. Harris got past the defense shortly thereafter to score the fourth goal for Young Harris. Alex Scarpinato scored her second goal of the afternoon to extend the Mountain Lions' lead to 5-0. The Warriors pushed on as Madi Wurst took a corner kick. Karina Pashkovets collected the ball and headed it into the net for the first Warrior goal. However, the Mountain Lions would not relent as they took the game in an 8-1 final.
