How It Happened

The Bobcats attacked early as Kat Stiles and Lexi Hanson each took shots, but the Warriors' defense blocked their attacks.  Amanda Magnin got in the way of the shot off the boot of Hannah Davies to keep Lees-McRae off the board.  However, minutes later Taylor Barrineau got her foot on a deflected pass to score the first goal of the game.  A free kick by Madi Wurst lead to the first shot on goal for the Warriors as she sent the ball in an arc to the goal, but Maddie Campo saved the attack.  Wurst sent another shot toward the net, but once again her attack was thwarted.

Lees-McRae maintained the intensity as they scored quickly in the second half as Haley Lowman got the ball into the net.  The Bobcats pushed further ahead seconds later as Taylor Barrineau scored her second goal of the evening.  Southern Wesleyan challenged as Kira Brown sent the ball down the field to Bella Hanzel.  Hanzel took a shot on the goal, but Maddie Campo collected the ball to keep Southern Wesleyan off the board.  Barrineau got her hat trick with just over thirty minutes left in the half.  Madelyn Graf took a shot on the goal, but once again Campo prevented the Warriors from getting on the board.  The Bobcats went on to win the game in a 5-0 final score.
