Florence, SC – Southern Wesleyan dropped both games of the doubleheader against the Francis Marion Patriots on Saturday in 9-2 and 8-0 final scores.
The Warriors picked up four hits in game one as
Emma Jo Wolfe,
Addi Johnson,
Ryanne Yarborough and
Kori Rominger all recorded hits. Wolfe and Johnson doubled. Both Johnson and Rominger picked up RBIs.
Emma Jo Wolfe started on the mound and pitched four innings while striking out two batters.
Southern Wesleyan collected three hits in game two of the day.
Emma Jo Wolfe,
Talissa Cannady and
Andi Grae Wingate all had solo hits. Wingate's hit came in the form of a double. The Warriors walked once and
Sarah Prater was hit by a pitch.
Autumn Barnhardt started game two and pitched 2.2 innings.

How It Happened
Game One
Francis Marion picked up the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning. They extended their lead to 7-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning as they plated six more runs.
Southern Wesleyan challenged in the top of the fifth inning.
Andi Grae Wingate led off the inning by reaching first after being hit by a pitch. Wingate advanced to second as
Ryanne Yarborough singled up the middle.
Jaelyn Montfort came in to pinch run for Wingate. With two runners on and no outs,
Kori Rominger hit a single down the right field line to bring Montfort in to score to put the Warriors down 7-1.
The Warriors plated another run in the top of the sixth inning.
Emma Jo Wolfe led off the inning with a double to center field. A fly out by
Talissa Cannady allowed Wolfe to advance to third.
Addi Johnson doubled to left field to bring Wolfe in to score to put the Warriors down 7-2.
However, the Patriots brought two more runs in to score in the bottom of the sixth inning to win the game in a 9-2 final score.
Game Two
Francis Marion took the first run of game two as they brought one run in to score in the bottom of the second inning. They went on to bring in seven more runs in to score in the bottom of the third and fifth innings to win the game in an 8-0 final score.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will return home on March 21 as they host the King Tornado at 2 and 4:30 p.m. They will remain at home on March 24 as they host the Barton Bulldogs at 2 and 4:30 p.m. The Warriors will host the Chowan Hawks on March 25. They will travel down the road to Due West, SC on March 28 to take on the Erskine Flying Fleet.
