Franklin Springs, GA – The Warriors fell to the Emmanuel Lions on Saturday evening in an 82-55 final score.
Southern Wesleyan shot 40.8% from the field and were 33.3% from beyond the arc in the loss to the Lions.

How It Happened
The Warriors took the first point of the game on a free throw by
Jamal Edmonson. However, a three pointer by Jasper Gibson allowed the Lions to take the lead shortly afterwards. Edmonson countered with a three pointer of his own. However, a three pointer out of the hands of Kelvin Jones extended Emmanuel's lead to 10-6. Emmanuel continued to push on with baskets by Jones and Gibson.
Marcus Long passed the ball over to
Griffin Effenberger who stepped beyond the arc to hit a three pointer. The Lions continued to pepper the basket from beyond the arc as Chris Dees put up back-to-back three point shots.
Dyren Brown laid the ball up into the basket.
Jamal Edmonson stole the ball away from the Lions and took it down the court for a layup to put the Warriors down 25-14. Emmanuel pushed on as a layup by Kelvin Jones extended their lead to nineteen points with under five minutes left in the half.
Tyrin Hollis stepped beyond the arc and hit back-to-back three pointers. Despite a last second three pointer by Hollis, the Warriors trailed the Lions 43-25 at halftime.
The Lions picked up from where they left off in the second half as Kelvin Jones stepped beyond the arc and hit a three pointer. A dunk by Jones extended Emmanuel's lead to twenty-six.
Jamal Edmonson hit back-to-back baskets for the Warriors. Edmonson passed the ball beyond the arc to
Tyrin Hollis. Hollis put up another three pointer to put the Warriors behind the Lions 56-33.
Bryson Felder took the ball and stepped beyond the arc before hitting his first three point basket of the evening. The Warriors pushed on as a three point basket by
Dyren Brown put them back within sixteen points. However, Jasper Gibson hit a three pointer with just under ten minutes on the clock to extend Emmanuel's lead back to nineteen. Edmonson and Felder each put up layups. Emmanuel would not relent their attacks as baskets by Kendall Latney and Jeremiah Francis pushed the Lions further ahead. The Lions went on to win the game in an 82-55 final score.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will return home on February 7 as they host the Erskine Flying Fleet at 7 p.m. They will then travel to Spartanburg, SC on February 11 to take on the Converse Valkyries at 4 p.m. The Warriors will host the Lees-McRae Bobcats on February 15. Southern Wesleyan's last home game of the regular season will be held on February 18 as they welcome the Barton Bulldogs to Historic Tysinger Gymnasium for a 4 p.m. tip-off.
