Anderson, SC – Southern Wesleyan dropped both games in the double header against the Anderson Trojans on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors fell 9-0 in game one and then 8-6 in game two.
The Warriors recorded two hits in the first game of the day. The hits came off the bats of
Addi Johnson and
Autumn Barnhardt. Barnhardt started the first game of the series and went five innings and struck out four batters.
Southern Wesleyan put up eight hits in the second game.
Talissa Cannady,
Andi Grae Wingate and
Madison Keefer all had two hits in the game. Keefer led the team with two of the four RBIs. The Warriors walked three times and
Addi Johnson had the lone stolen base. Wingate started on the mound for the Warriors and struck out one over 3.1 innings pitched.
Emma Jo Wolfe led the Warriors in strikeouts with three.

How It Happened
Game One
Anderson shut down the Warriors in the first game of the afternoon. They took the first runs in the bottom of the first inning. They went on to score seven more times to win game one in a 9-0 final score.
Game Two
The Warriors struck first in the second game of day.
Addi Johnson led off the inning with a walk. Johnson advanced to second on a single by
Talissa Cannady. A fielder's choice allowed
Autumn Barnhardt to reach first. However, an error on the play allowed Johnson to come in to score to give the Warriors the lead.
Southern Wesleyan extended the lead in the top of the third inning.
Autumn Barnhardt led off the third inning with a single to right center field. A single by
Andi Grae Wingate allowed Barnhardt to advance to second base.
Emma Jo Wolfe reached first on a fielder's choice to load up the bases. With one out,
Madison Keefer singled through the left side to bring Wingate in to score.
Sarah Prater followed with a single to center field to bring Wolfe home and give the Warriors a 3-0 run advantage.
Anderson countered with a run in the bottom of the third inning. The Trojans took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning as they brought seven runs in to score to take an 8-3 goal lead.
The Warriors challenged in the top of the seventh inning. With one out,
Talissa Cannady singled through the right side. A walk to
Autumn Barnhardt put runners at first and second.
Andi Grae Wingate singled to left field to load up the bases.
Emma Jo Wolfe walked to bring in the fourth run for the Warriors. With two outs,
Madison Keefer singled to center field to bring both Wingate and Barnhardt in to score. However, the Warriors dropped the second game 8-6.
What's Next
The Warriors will next travel to Milledgeville, GA where they will take part in the Georgia College Tournament and take on both the Georgia College Bobcats and the Mars Hill Lions. Southern Wesleyan will return home on February 21 as they host the Augusta Jaguars. They will then travel to Greeneville, TN to take on the Tusculum Pioneers.
