Spartanburg, SC – The Warriors fell to the Wofford Terriers on the road on Monday evening in a 65-42 final score.
Southern Wesleyan shot 25% from the field and were 73.3% from the free throw line. Both
Lexi Greffen and
Shelby Glance led the team with 10 points. Behind them,
Asia Pearly had eight and
Kaliah Kendrick had seven.
Jordan Race picked up three of the seven assists. The Warriors totaled 30 rebounds with
Taylin Smith leading the team with five. Smith was followed by both
Dynasty Shegog and
Alexis Glover with four. Glance posted two blocks. The Warriors stole the ball away from the Terriers five times.

How It Happened
The Terriers attacked quickly as Maddie Heiss drove toward the net for a layup. They pushed ahead as three pointers by Heiss and Annabelle Schultz gave them a ten point advantage. Wofford kept the Warriors off the board until the last two minutes of the quarter.
Taylin Smith collected an offensive rebound and laid it up into the net. A three pointer by
Shelby Glance allowed the Warriors to cut the Terriers lead down to five.
Southern Wesleyan kicked off the second quarter with a layup by
Lexi Greffen. However, a layup by Vitolia Tuilave allowed the Terriers to extend their lead to 16-9. Back-to-back layups by Rachael Rose and Evangelia Paulk gave Wofford an eleven point advantage. However, the Warriors challenged back as
Kaliah Kendrick laid the ball up into the basket off a pass by Greffen. Southern Wesleyan pushed on as Kendrick stepped beyond the arc to sink a three pointer to cut Wofford's lead down to nine. A last second layup by
Asia Pearly allowed the Warriors to trail the Terriers 32-21 going into the locker room.
Wofford pushed ahead in the third quarter as Maddie Heiss hit a pull up jump shot. The Terriers would not relent as Rachael Rose drove to the basket. Vitolia Tuilave laid the ball up into the basket, but the Warriors countered with a jump shot by
Shelby Glance. Glance collected a pass from
Taylin Smith and hit another three pointer for the Warriors.
A jump shot by
Shelby Glance allowed the Warriors to take the first points of the final quarter. However, baskets by Maddie Heiss and Sara Deidda extended the Terriers lead to twenty-seven.
Lexi Greffen and
Asia Pearly each laid the ball up to put Southern Wesleyan down 57-34 with just under seven minutes left on the clock. Greffen drove the ball up to the basket for a layup. Wofford would not back down as Indiya Clark stepped beyond the arc to sink a three pointer. The Terriers went on to win the game in a 65-42 final score.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will return to Historic Tysinger Gymnasium on November 29 as they host the Virginia State Trojans at 5 pm. They will open up Conference Carolinas action on December 2 as they travel to Pembroke, NC to take on the UNC Pembroke Braves. The Warriors will remain on the road on December 9 as they take on the Young Harris Mountain Lions.
