Central, SC – The Warriors fell to the Georgia College Bobcats on Saturday afternoon in a 3-0 final score.
Southern Wesleyan picked up 18 kills against Georgia College. Gracie Wilson led the team with five, while Gavrielle Elswick followed with four. Of the 17 assists, Amiyah Spann picked up five. Hannah Wilson had four assists. The Warriors totaled six block. Trinity Eichman, Micheala Andress and Gracie Wilson each had two blocks. Kristina Pino led the team with seven of the 32 digs.

How It Happened
Set One
The Warriors took the first point off a kill by Gracie Wilson. Georgia College countered as kills by Rachel Machovec and Camyrn Carlton allowed the Bobcats to take a 4-1 point lead. The Bobcats continued to distance themselves from the Warriors as an ace by Cadence Spilotros allowed them to extend their lead to nine points. Gavrielle Elswick collected a pass from Cara Martin and put down a kill. Georgia College went on to win the first set in a 25-13 final.
Set Two
Southern Wesleyan took the first point, but a kill by Rachel Machovec allowed Georgia College to tie the set up. The Warriors took the lead on kills by Gracie Wilson and Micheala Andress. The Bobcats pushed on as a kill by Callie Miller allowed them to tie the second set up at five points apiece. Georgia College took the lead, but a block by Gavrielle Elswick allow the Warriors to tie the set once again. The Bobcats would not back down as they took a four point lead on kills by Camryn Carlton. Despite a late kill by Emma Ronaldson, the Bobcats claimed the second set in a 25-16 final score.
Set Three
The Bobcats attacked quickly in set three as kills by Rachel Machovec and Camryn Carlton allowed them to take a three point lead. A kill by Emily Ellis and an assisted block by Ellis and Trinity Eichman allowed the Warriors to cut Georgia College's lead down to two points. Southern Wesleyan continued to challenge as Kristina Pino laid down an ace. Kills by Gavrielle Elswick and Eichman put the Warriors down 14-11. The Bobcats extended their lead, but the Warriors fought back with a kill by Micheala Andress. Georgia College went on to take the set in a 25-17 final.
What's Next
The Warriors will travel to Hartsville, SC to take on the Coker Cobras on October 31. They will then travel to Tigerville, SC on November 3 to resume Conference Carolinas action against the North Greenville Crusaders. Southern Wesleyan will host their final match of the season on November 6 as they welcome the Lees-McRae Bobcats to Historic Tysinger Gymnasium.
