Greenville, SC – Southern Wesleyan dropped the non-conference game against the Bob Jones Bruins on Tuesday evening in a 3-0 final score.
The Warriors picked up 18 shots with eight being on target in the loss to the Bruins. Both
Presleigh Bayot and
Madi Wurst had three shots on goal.
Abigail Aman followed with two shots on goal.
Samantha Benner started in goal and collected seven saves.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan pressured the ball early on as
Presleigh Bayot sent the ball toward the net, but it went wide right. The Bruins countered, but
Samantha Benner stood strong in the goal to keep Bob Jones from taking the lead.
Madi Wurst drove the ball toward the net, but Margaret Cummings saved the attack from paying off. However, Bob Jones would not relent as a shot by Francesca Peters found the back of the net to put them on top. Mia Marks scored seconds later to allow the Bruins to take a 2-0 goal lead going into the half.
The Warriors pressed on as
Madi Wurst drove the ball toward the net. However, once again the Bruins blocked the attack. Southern Wesleyan peppered the net as
Madelyn Graf,
Abigail Aman and
Audrey Crawford each took shots on the goal.
Abigail Aman passed the ball up to
Presleigh Bayot. Bayot was about to send the ball to the net, but the Bruins defense prevent the breakaway attack from paying off. Bob Jones continued to attack the net, but
Katelyn O'Neill would not let them extend their lead. The Bruins scored once more to allow them to win the game in a 3-0 final score.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will return to Childs Field on October 21 as they welcome the Belmont Abbey Crusaders to Central, SC for a 1 pm kick-off. They will then host the Erskine Flying Fleet on October 24 at 5 pm.
