Young Harris, GA – Southern Wesleyan dropped their road contest against the Young Harris Mountain Lions on Saturday afternoon in a 5-1 final score.
The Warriors totaled five shots with the two shots on goal coming off the feet of Abigail Aman and Kira Brown. Brown went on to score her first collegiate goal during the match. Katelyn O'Neill started in goal for the Warriors and picked up six saves over sixty minutes of play. Samantha Benner came in to play goal in relief and totaled three saves.

How It Happened
Young Harris charged out of the gate as Charlotte Brown and Tess Preston netted back-to-back goals. The Warriors challenged back after twenty-seven minutes of play as Kira Brown took the ball and put it into the net to put Southern Wesleyan within one goal of the Mountain Lions. The Warriors continued to put up a fight as Madi Wurst put up a shot, but it went out the top right. Alexis Scarpinato sent the ball toward the net, but Katelyn O'Neill saved the attack to keep the score 2-1 at halftime.
The Mountain Lions would not relent their attacks as Justice Taylor Colburn and Chloe Schmidhuber each scored to extend their lead to 4-1. The Warriors countered with shots by Abigail Aman and Madelyn Graf, but Mckenna Peaster and the Mountain Lions defense saved each of the attacks from paying off. Young Harris went on to win the game in a 5-1 final score.
What's Next
The Warriors will travel to Greenville, SC on October 17 to take on the Bob Jones Bruins at 7 pm. Southern Wesleyan will then return to Childs Field on October 21 as they host the Belmont Abbey Crusaders at 1 pm.
