How It Happened

The Warriors put on the pressure early as MJ Grant took a shot on the goal, but Clair Lewis jumped in front of the attack to keep Southern Wesleyan from taking the early lead.  Erskine challenged twelve minutes into the match as Jordan Schuhlein took a pass from Natalia Concha and sent it into the net to put the Flying Fleet on top.  Southern Wesleyan maintained the attack as Presleigh Bayot and Karina Pashkovets each attacked the net, but Erskine stood strong to keep them from tying the game up.  The Flying Fleet would not relent as Schuhlein scored her second goal of the afternoon and then Kaylee Damsen put the ball into the net to give Erskine a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Southern Wesleyan started strong in the second half as Madelyn Graf took a shot on the net, but her shot went high.  The Warriors maintained the pressure as Bella Hanzel collected a pass from Abigail Aman and headed the ball over the defense.  Madelyn Graf collected the ball and put it into the back of the net to put the Warriors on the board.  Graf continued to push ahead as she shot the ball over the Flying Fleet defense and into the back of the net to put Southern Wesleyan down 3-2.  The third goal of the match for the Warriors came off a driving attack by Bella Hanzel with just under fifteen minutes on clock to tie the game up.  Southern Wesleyan continued to push as Karina Pashkovets sent the ball toward the net, but Clair Lewis dove in front of the net to divert the ball from its course.  The Warriors continued to attack with shots by Madelyn Graf and MJ Grant, but Clair Lewis would not let the Warriors take the lead.  The game ended in a 3-3 draw.
