How It Happened

Lees-McRae Bobcats took the first shots on the game as Averee Andrews and Alexa Todd each attacked the net.  However, Samantha Benner and the Warriors back line stayed strong to keep the Bobcats from taking an early lead.  Southern Wesleyan countered as Brooke Cash took a shot on goal, but Mallory Roughton saved the attack from paying off.  The Warriors continued to fight as Bryanna Pickens, Hayleigh Von Ins and Natalie Thompson took shots on the goal, but Roughton and the Bobcat back line deflected the Warriors' attacks.  Lees-McRae maintained the pressure as Sierra Shuey passed the ball up to Alexa Todd who put the ball into the net to give the Bobcats a 1-0 goal lead at the half.

The Bobcats kept up their attacks in the second half as Alexa Todd and Kalee Wiltshire took shots on the goal, but Samantha Benner stayed strong on the back line to prevent them from extending their lead.  Lees-McRae would not relent their attacks as Priscilla Mawi and Taylor Barrineau each scored to allow the Bobcats to extend their lead to 3-0.  Southern Wesleyan countered with shots by Brooke Cash, however Lees-McRae walked away with the victory.
