How It Happened

The Lions attacked early as Viki Lederer took shots, but Amanda Magnin saved the attacks to keep Emmanuel off the board.  Emmanuel would not relent as Lourdes Thompkins got around the defense to score the first goal of the game twelve minutes into the game.  Southern Wesleyan countered as Bella Hanzel, Nadya Perez, Madi Wurst and Karla Gordon all took shots on the goal.  However, none of their shots were able to find the back of the net as the Lion defense held strong to keep them on top 1-0 at the half.

Southern Wesleyan charged out of the gates as Bryanna Pickens took a shot on the goal, but Hannah Thompson saved the ball to prevent the Warriors from tying the game up.  The Lions continued to thwart the Warriors' attacks as they saved the ball off shots by Madi Wurst and Karla Gordon.  Emmanuel countered as Lourdes Thompkins scored her second goal of the afternoon.  Despite more shots by Nadya Perez, the Lions scored once more to win the game in a 3-0 final score.
