How It Happened

The University of Mount Olive Trojans struck quickly as Delia Allwood put in back-to-back goals in the first eleven minutes of the game to give the Trojans an early 2-0 lead.  The Warriors challenged back as Natalie Thompson took a shot on the goal, but Nicole Solicito saved the attack to keep the Warriors off the board.  The Warriors persisted their attacks and then a foul in the box allowed them to take a penalty kick.  Bryanna Pickens took the penalty kick and got the ball around the goal keeper to put the Warriors within one goal of the Trojans.

The Trojans extended their lead to two goals after a foul in the box allowed Maelwenn Gaiffas to score a penalty kick goal.  Mount Olive continued to attack the net but Amanda Magnin and the Warrior defense stood strong to prevent the Trojans from furthering their lead.  Southern Wesleyan challenged back as Brooke Cash got the ball into the back of the net to put the Warriors back within one goal of the Trojans.  However, Mount Olive went on to win the game in a 3-2 final score.
