How It Happened
The Valkyries attacked quickly as they scored their first three goals of the match in the first three minutes of the game to take the early lead. The Warriors challenged with shots by
Feren Nunez, but the Valkyries defense held strong to thwart the attacks. Converse went on to lead 4-0 at the half.
Southern Wesleyan challenged in the second half as
Hykeem Martin sent the ball toward the net, but David Windmiller saved the attack to keep the Warriors off the board.

Wesley Bigbee saved the ball to keep them from extending their lead further. The Valkyries furthered their lead by two more goals. They continued to attack as a foul in the box allowed the Valkyries to take a penalty kick. However,
Will Hughes saved the penalty kick taken by Joel Houston. Converse went on to win the game in a 6-0 final score.

The Warriors will return to Childs Field on September 24 as they host the University of Mount Olive Trojans at 1:30 p.m. They will then welcome the Lees-McRae Bobcats to Central, SC on September 28 at 7:30 p.m. Southern Wesleyan will remain at home on October 1 to take on the Carolina Bruins for Senior Night.
