Columbia, SC - The Southern Wesleyan ladies took top spots at Weems Baskin Invitational this weekend.

Track Results
100m: In the 100m dash invitational, Mycherie Onwuzurukie ran a time of 12.16 and placed 17th out of 32 other athletes who were invited to compete in this event. In the open 100m Carrie Barton placed 26th running a time of 12.98.
100mh: Freshman TraVon Lay placed 26th running a time of 15.83.
200m: Kyla Johnson ran a time of 27.88 placing 72nd out of the many athletes who ran in this event.
400m: In the 400m invitational, Michele Beugre placed 9th running a time of 56.68. Her time is now the 13th fastest time out of all Division II competitors in this event. Freshman Cierra Wright finished not too far behind her, running a time of 58.20 which put her in 19th place. In the open 400m dash, Kyla Johnson and Deborah Marlow ran times of 1:04. Johnson took 31st place and Marlow followed closely behind, taking 33rd place.
400mh: In the 400mh hurdles, Kayla Lema placed 21st running a time of 1:09. TraVon Lay took 26th as she ran a time of 1:10 and Lauryn Tate followed closely behind taking 27th place after running a time of 1:13.
800: In the open 800m, Lycia Zavala placed 25th after she ran a time of 2:26.
4x100 Meter Relay: In the 4x100, Lauryn Tate, Mycherie Onwuzurukie, Carrie Barton, Michele Beugre opened up with a time 48.22.
4x300 Meter Realy: In the 4x300 Lycia Zavala, Mycherie Onwuzurukie, Cierra Wright, and Michele Beugre swept the heat away running a time of 2:48. Lauyrn Tate, Kayla Lema, Kyla Johnson, and Deborah Marlow followed behind placing 4th after running a time of 3:00.

The Warriors will host their second meet of the season as they welcome teams in for the SWU Gotta Run Invitational on April 1st-April 2nd.
