Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan took down the Converse Valkyries on Saturday evening in a 92-56 final score.
The Warriors shot 50% from the field and were 37.1% from beyond the arc. Julian Cameorn led the team with 18 points. Cameron was followed by
Demarcus Addie with 16 points. Both
Ta'Jay Dunlap and
Arusha Hunter had 14 points in the game. Southern Wesleyan had 18 assists in the victory.
Southern Wesleyan had 53 rebounds with
Quinian Rieves leading the team with 14 rebounds.
Tranard Ferrell had two of the four blocks. The Warriors stole the ball two times.

How It Happened
The Valkyries took the lead early as Elijah Pitts sunk a three to kick off the first half. However, layups by
Demarcus Addie and
Quinian Rieves allowed Southern Wesleyan to come within three of the Valkyries.
Julian Cameron stepped beyond arc to make a three point shot to tie the game up at seven points apiece. Converse fought back, but Southern Wesleyan was not discouraged as layups by
Demarcus Addie and
Tranard Ferrell put the Warriors ahead by three points with just over thirteen minutes left. Three point baskets by Addie and
Arusha Hunter extended the Warriors' lead to eleven. The Valkyries countered with a jump shot by Pitts, but back-to-back jump shots by
Ta'Jay Dunlap put the Warriors on top by thirteen. Dunlap and Addie hit three point shots to wrap up the first half to give the Warriors a 43-23 point lead.
Converse kicked off the second half with a layup by Earl Burgess III, but Southern Wesleyan countered with a three point shot by
Julian Cameron. A dunk by
Quinian Rieves and layup by
Solomon Smith gave the Warriors a twenty-five point advantage with just over seventeen minutes left.
Ta'Jay Dunlap collected a pass from

However, the Valkyries continued to fight as a three by Elijah Pitts allowed Converse to cut down the Southern Wesleyan lead to 53-31. Burgess dunked the ball into the basket to put the Valkyries within twenty-eight, but jumps shots by
Demarcus Addie and
Julian Cameron put the Warriors lead at 67-38. Ferrell dunked the ball into the basket to put the Warriors ahead by twenty-nine. Three point baskets by Cameron and Hunter gave Southern Wesleyan over a thirty point lead with just over five minutes left. Southern Wesleyan went on to win the game in a 92-56 final.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will remain at home on February 22 to host the Erskine Flying Fleet at 7 p.m. They will then wrap up the regular season on February 24 as they travel to Belmont, NC to take on the Belmont Abbey Crusaders.
