Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan took down the Erskine Flying Fleet in an 84-68 final score on Tuesday night.
The Warriors shot 53.7% from the field in the final home game of the season.
Demarcus Addie led the team with 25 points. Behind Addie,
Julian Cameron collected 18 points and
Solomon Smith had 15. Southern Wesleyan had 15 assists with Addie leading the team with four. He was followed by both
Ta'Jay Dunlap and
Davion Bradford with three.
Southern Wesleyan pulled down 32 rebounds in the game.
Demarcus Addie led the team with eight rebounds.
Solomon Smith posted six. Of the four blocks of the game, Smith had two of them. The Warriors had 11 steals with Addie leading them with four.

How It Happened
Erskine took an early lead on a layup by Travis Walters, but a jump shot by
Tranard Ferrell allowed the Warriors to come within one. The Warriors continued to challenge as
Solomon Smith laid the ball up and then a three pointer by
Julian Cameron allowed Southern Wesleyan to tie the game up at eight points apiece. Erskine would not relent their attacks as a jump shot by De'Lanyc Shuler put the Flying Fleet ahead by six points. The Warriors were not discouraged as a layup by
Solomon Smith allowed them to take a 21-19 point advantage with just over eight minutes left.
Demarcus Addie stepped beyond the arc and sunk a three point shot to put the Warriors ahead by three points. The lead was short lived as RJ Bell made a three point shot on his own to put Erskine back ahead 30-26. Three point baskets by
Quinian Rieves and Addie allowed the Warriors to get within two. Southern Wesleyan tied the game up on a layup by
Solomon Smith, but a layup by Travis Walters allowed the Flying Fleet to take a 38-36 point lead at half time.
Southern Wesleyan fought back as
Ta'Jay Dunlap sunk a three point shot to give them a one point lead to kick-off the second half of the game. Once again Erskine pushed ahead, but a three point shot by
Julian Cameron and a layup by
Demarcus Addie put Southern Wesleyan within one point of Erskine. Addie stepped beyond the arc and made a three point shot to give the Warriors a 53-49 point lead. The Warriors would not relent their attacks as
Arusha Hunter and
Julian Cameron each sunk three point shots to give them a nine point lead with just under eleven minutes left in the second half. Erskine came within nine points on a layup by Travis Walters, but a layup by Cameron allowed Southern Wesleyan to take their lead up to ten points. A last second layup by
Davion Bradford put the Warriors ahead by fourteen points.
Tranard Ferrell dunked the ball into the net to allow the Warriors to gain a 84-58 point victory.

Southern Wesleyan will wrap up the regular season on February 24 as they travel to Belmont, NC to take on the Belmont Abbey Crusaders.
