Aiken, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the USC Aiken Pacers on Friday afternoon in 3-0 and 9-5 final scores.
The Warriors collected four hits in the first game of the afternoon.
Lydia Clanton led the team with two hits.
Faith Bowen pitched six innings while striking out three batters.
Southern Wesleyan had 11 hits in the second game of the day with four Warriors leading the team with two hits.
Addi Johnson hit her first home run of the season. Johnson had two of the Warriors five RBIs. Southern Wesleyan walked three times in game two.
Emma Collins stole two bases while
Emma Jo Wolfe stole one base. Collins pitched game two and struck out three batters.

How It Happened
Game One
Southern Wesleyan challenged in the top of the second as both
Faith Bowen and
Emma Jo Wolfe reached base, however the Pacers were able to keep the Warriors from taking an early lead. USC Aiken scored the first two runs of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. They went on to win the game in a 3-0 final score.
Game Two
The Warriors struck early in the second game of the day as
Delaney Byers walked to lead off the first inning.
Addi Johnson then hit a home run over the left field wall to bring Byers in and give Southern Wesleyan a 2-0 lead.
Emma Collins then walked and then stole second base. With Collins on second,
Savannah Huff singled to center field to bring Collins in to score.
USC Aiken challenge in the bottom of the first as a home run by Shaver put the Pacers down 3-2 to the Warriors. They went on to tie the game up in the bottom of the second inning.
In the top of the fourth inning, Southern Wesleyan regained the lead.
Emmy Copeland led off with a single to third base and then advanced to second on a single to right field by
Addi Johnson. With two outs,
Lydia Clanton singled to left field to bring Copeland in to score and allow the Warriors to regain the lead.
The Pacers took the lead in the bottom of the fifth as they brought three runs across home plate.
Southern Wesleyan challenged back in the top of the sixth inning.
Emma Collins reached on a fielding error before stealing second base. With two outs,
Savannah Huff singled to left field to move Collins to third.
Emma Jo Wolfe singled to right center to allow Collins to come in to score and put the Warriors within one run of the Pacers.
However, USC Aiken went on to win the second game in a 9-5 final score.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will remain on the road on February 19 as they travel to Columbia International to take on the Rams at 1 and 3 p.m. The Warriors will then return to Varsity Field on February 23 as the host the Catawba Indians. They will then travel to Young Harris, GA to take on the Young Harris Mountain Lions on March 10.
