Pembroke, NC – Southern Wesleyan dropped their first game of Conference Carolinas action against the UNC Pembroke Braves in a 19-2 final score.
 
Southern Wesleyan collected three hits in the loss to UNC Pembroke.  Josh Galloway doubled during the game.  Will Pitts had the lone RBI of the game.  The Warriors walked five times and DJ Ludwick had the lone stolen base of the game.  Galloway was hit by a pitch during the game.
 
TJ McEvilly started on the mound for the Warriors.  He pitched five innings while striking out two batters.  Jake Wisneiwski, Ryan Moore and Aiden Evans all came in to pitch in relief.  Evans struck out two batters.

How It Happened
 
Southern Wesleyan struck first in the game.  In the top of the first inning, DJ Ludwick led off with a walk and then stole second base.  Chance Fogel reached on a throwing error that allowed Ludwick to come in and score to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.
 
The Braves took the lead in the bottom of the second inning as they brought two runs in to score.
 
The Warriors fought back in the top of the third inning.  Parker Pillsbury reached first on a passed ball and then advanced to second as Josh Galloway was hit by a pitch.  A wild pitch allowed both runners to advance ninety feet.  Will Pitts hit into a sacrifice fly out to right field that allowed Pillsbury to come in to score to tie the game. 
 
UNC Pembroke push ahead with runs in the bottom of the third, fifth, seventh and eighth innings to win the game 19-2.
 
 
 
What's Next
 
Southern Wesleyan will continue Conference Carolinas action on February 19 as they take on the Braves of UNC Pembroke at 1 and 4 p.m.  The Warriors will then travel to Anderson, SC to take on the Anderson Trojans at 4 p.m. on February 23.  They will then return to Dr. C Keith Connor Field on February 25-26 as they host the Barton Bulldogs.
