How It Happened
The Lions took the first points of the game as Brandon Simpson made a three point shot. Southern Wesleyan countered with a layup by
Demarcus Addie. A three point shot by Michael Wright extended Emmanuel's lead to four points, but a three point shot by Addie allowed the Warriors to stay within one. The Lions continued to push ahead as they went on an eleven point run before a layup by
Solomon Smith put the Warriors down ten points with just under fifteen minutes left. Emmanuel would not back down on their attacks, but three point baskets by
Demarcus Addie allowed the Warriors to stay within eighteen points at the half.
Southern Wesleyan kicked off the second half with a jump shot by
Demarcus Addie. However, jump shots by Kelvin Jones allowed the Lions to maintain their eighteen point lead. The Warriors continued to fight with a layup in the paint by
Quinian Rieves. Emmanuel continued to extend their lead, but a three point shot by
Julian Cameron allowed the Warriors to cut into the Lions lead and make the score 57-35. Baskets by Isaiah Foster and Kelvin Jones gave Emmanuel a thirty point lead with just under eight minutes left. Despite a last second dunk by Rieves, the Warriors fell to the Lions 80-53.

Southern Wesleyan will return to Historic Tysinger Gymnasium on February 16 as they host the Emmanuel Lions at 7:30 p.m. They will then host the Converse Valkyries on February 19 at 4 p.m. The Warriors will host their final home game of the season on February 22 as they welcome the Erskine Flying Fleet to Central, SC.
