The Warriors shot 30.9% from the field in the loss to the Hawks.
Brooke Henricks led the team with 13 points. Southern Wesleyan had nine assists with three Warriors recording two assists apiece during the game.
Nakia Hooks had five of the 29 rebounds collected.
Allie Newberry had the lone block. Southern Wesleyan stole the ball four times.

How It Happened
The Hawks charged out of the gate, taking a 4-0 lead before a layup by
Allie Newberry put the Warriors on the board.
Tristen Berry raced down the court in a fast break and put up a jump shot to tie the game up. The tie was short lived as Tyaysia Sharpe and Aniah Patterson made back-to-back three point baskets to give Chowan a six point advantage.
Brooke Henricks sunk a jump shot in the paint to keep the Warriors within six. Chowan continued to distance themselves taking a fifteen point lead before a three pointer by
Shelby Glance put the Warriors down 23-11 at the end of the first quarter.
Chowan took the first four points of the second quarter before the Warriors were able to cut into their lead with free throw baskets by
Nakia Hooks. A layup by
Brooke Henricks put the Warriors within fifteen of the Hawks with just over seven minutes remaining before the half. Chowan was not done as baskets by Keibra Hopkins, Destiny Robinson and Monique Jones allowed them to extend their lead to 36-15. With just at three minutes left,
Brittany Mack stepped beyond the arc and made a three point shot. However, the Warriors trailed the Hawks 45-20 at halftime.
Southern Wesleyan kicked off the third quarter with a jump shot by
Tristen Berry, but a jumper by Monique Jones allowed Chowan to regain their twenty-five point lead. The Warriors continued to fight with a three point shot by
Brooke Henricks. The Hawks were not discouraged as they pushed further ahead on jump shots by Aniah Patterson. Despite free throw baskets by several Warriors, the Hawks continued to distance themselves.
A layup by Kashara Simpson to kick-off the final quarter of the game allowed the Hawks to extend their lead to thirty-five points.
Brittany Mack laid the ball up with seven minutes on the clock to put the Warriors down 71-38. Mack passed the ball over to
Brooke Henricks who stepped beyond the arc and sunk a three to put the Warriors behind twenty-nine to the Hawks. Despite layups by
Lonesha Lee and a jump shot by
Shelby Glance, the Warriors fell to the Hawks 82-53.
What's Next
The Warriors will return to Historic Tysinger Gymnasium on February 14 as they host the University of Mount Olive Trojans at 3 p.m. They will then host the Emmanuel Lions on February 16 and the UNC Pembroke Braves on February 8. Southern Wesleyan will remain at home on February 19 to welcome the Converse Valkyries to Central, SC.
