Spartanburg, SC – Southern Wesleyan dropped an intense game against the Wofford Terriers on Monday evening in a 70-51 final score.
The Warriors shot 34.6% from the field and were 71.4% from the free throw line.
Brittany Mack led the team with 15 points. She was followed by
Tristen Berry with nine points and
Brooke Henricks with eight. Southern Wesleyan collected seven assists with Berry leading the team with three. Mack followed with two. The other two assists came out of the hands of Henricks and
Nyah Garner.
Southern Wesleyan pulled down 28 rebounds.
Brittany Mack led the team with 10, giving her a double-double in the game. She was followed by
Shelby Glance with seven rebounds. Glance went on to have the lone block of the evening. The Warriors had seven steals with both Mack and
Kimani Green recording two.

How It Happened
The Warriors took the first point as a technical foul by the Terriers allowed the Warriors to take a free throw.
Brittany Mack took the free throw to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead. Wofford fought back as a layup by Rachael Rose put the Terriers ahead by one. A three point shot by Mack allowed the Warriors to regain the lead. The lead was short lived as Helen Matthews tied the game up on a layup. The Terriers pushed ahead on layups by Jackie Carman and Rose. A layup by
Brittany Mack allowed the Warriors to cut the Terriers lead down to seven points.
Southern Wesleyan continued to chip away at Wofford's lead as
Tristen Berry passed the ball over to
Brittany Mack. Mack stepped behind the arc and fired off a three pointer to put the Warriors down 16-12. Jessie Parish put up a three pointer of her own to give the Terriers a seven point lead. However,
Brooke Henricks laid the ball up into the net to allow the Warriors to come to within five. The Terriers continued to push ahead, but
Shelby Glance put up a jump shot to put the Warriors down 23-16. Jessie Parish stole the ball away from the Warriors and laid it up to extend Wofford's lead to thirteen with just over a minute left. A last second layup by
Tristen Berry put the Warriors down 31-20 at the half.
Allie Newberry kicked off the third quarter for the Warriors as her layup put the Warriors back within nine points. However, the Terriers regained their eleven point advantage on a layup by Jackie Carman.
Brittany Mack took the ball all the way to the net for a layup. Wofford fouled
Tristen Berry while she was going in for a layup to allow Berry to go to the free throw line. Berry made both her free throws to put the Warriors down 35-26.
Nyah Garner sent the ball over to
Shelby Glance who stepped beyond the arc to sink a three pointer. Wofford countered seconds later with a three pointer of their own from Indiya Clarke. However, Glance put up another jump shot to put the Warriors behind the Terriers 42-34 with just over four minutes left in the quarter. Wofford pushed ahead, but a layup by
Alexis Glover allowed the Warriors to stay within eleven points.
Southern Wesleyan fought back as
Brittany Mack passed the ball over to
Caroline Reese. Reese stepped beyond the arc and sunk her first three point basket of the afternoon to put the Warriors back within eight. However, baskets by Jessie Parish and Rachael Rose allowed the Terriers to extend their lead to 55-42. The Warriors were not discouraged as Mack put up a jump shot. Mack stole the ball away from the Terriers and sent the ball down to
Brooke Henricks who laid the ball up into the basket. The Warriors continued to chip away at the Terriers' lead as
Tristen Berry sunk a three point shot to put them within four points. However, Wofford was not done as a three pointer by Helen Matthews allowed them to take a seven point lead. The Terriers continued to distance themselves as Indiya Clarke laid the ball up to extend their lead to 65-51. Wofford went on to win the game in a 70-51 final score.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will resume Conference Carolinas action on November 30 as they welcome the Belmont Abbey Crusaders to Historic Tysinger Gymnasium at 5 p.m. They will then travel down the road to Due West, SC to take on the Erskine Flying Fleet on December 3. The Warriors will then host the Emmanuel Lions on December 7 and the North Greenville Crusaders on December 10.
