Senior Austin Snow says…

"Super proud of our guys tonight.  We played out best in many aspects.  Everybody that stepped on the field gave it their all, worked very hard and I couldn't be happier with the result on senior day.  We will get back at it on Monday and prepare for the next showing.  We know what we are capable of and are far from done with this season!"

How It Happened

The Warriors charged out of the gate as Trey Greenwood drilled the ball toward the net, but it went out high to prevent Southern Wesleyan from getting on the board.  However, the Warriors would not relent as Tipton Wright passed the ball up to Pedro Fonseca.  Fonseca ran to the net and drilled the ball in to give the Warriors the early 1-0 lead.  Southern Wesleyan maintained their intensity as Fonseca knocked the ball over to Austin Snow who got the ball around the defense to put the Warriors ahead by two just eight minutes into the game.  Erskine countered with shots by Alex Lopez and Andres Royas, but Wesley Bigbee saved each attack to keep the Flying Fleet from scoring.  Feren Nunez took a corner kick and curved the ball into the net for the Warriors third goal of the afternoon.  Southern Wesleyan increased the intensity with shots on goal by Trey Greenwood and Nunez, but Evan Zizek saved the attacks to keep the Warriors from extending their lead further.

Erskine attacked early in the second half as Alex Lopez and Tyler Nichols took a shot on the goal, but Will Hughes prevented the attack from paying off.  Southern Wesleyan collected the ball as Pedro Fonseca and Austin Snow each took more shots on the net, but Even Zizek and the Flying Fleet back line thwarted the attacks.  Gabriel Melendez sent the ball up the field to the feet of Pedro Fonseca.  Fonseca collected the ball and put it into the net for his second goal of the afternoon.  The Flying Fleet attacked again with shots by Benjamin Martinez and Roman De Leon, but their attacks did not pay off as the Warriors claimed a 4-0 victory.
