How It Happened
Set One
The Braves charged out of the gate as Precious Daley killed the ball to give them a 3-0 point lead. Southern Wesleyan countered as
Kali Letcher and
Tiyonnah Brown each put down kills to put the Warriors within two points of the Braves. A kill by Shannon Skryd extended UNC Pembroke's lead to 6-2. Kills by
Emily Ellis and
Amber Bass put the Warriors within seven. However, the Braves pushed ahead to win the first set in a 25-10 final score.
Set Two
A kill by Elle Mead allowed the Braves to take the early lead in the second set. They continued to push ahead on kills by Taylor Osborne and Precious Daley. Southern Wesleyan challenged back on kills by
Amber Bass to put the Warriors within two points of the Braves. UNC Pembroke would not relent as an ace by Morgan Gibbs allowed them to extend their lead to 13-5. Kills by
Tiyonnah Brown and
Emily Ellis allowed the Warriors to come within seven of the Braves. Despite blocks by Brown and
Gavirelle Elswick, the Braves took the second set in a 25-16 final.
Set Three
The Braves kicked off the final set with a kill by Precious Daley. However, the Warriors took the lead as
Amber Bass and
Gavirelle Elswick blocked the ball to give Southern Wesleyan a 3-1 point advantage. UNC Pembroke came to within one of the Warriors on kills by Elle Mead and Taylor Osborne. The Braves tied the set up on a kill by Morgan Gibbs. However, the Warriors regained the lead as
Ashley Sexton put down an ace. The Braves would not relent their attacks as they took the lead on a kill by Daley. Southern Wesleyan fought back as
Amber Bass and
Riley Young blocked the attack to tie the set up. A kill by
Emily Ellis put the Warriors up by one. UNC Pembroke would not relent as they pushed ahead to win the set 25-23.

The Warriors will travel to Franklin Springs, SC on October 25 to take on the Emmanuel Lions at 7 p.m. Southern Wesleyan will return to Historic Tysinger Gymnasium on October 29 at 2 p.m. to host the Converse Valkyries for Senior Day. They will wrap up the regular season on November 1 as they host the Erskine Flying Fleet at 6 p.m.
