How It Happened

Francis Marion charged out of the gate as Linsey Downey and JG Garon took shots on the goal, but Amanda Magnin and the Southern Wesleyan defense saved the attacks from meeting the net.  The Warriors countered as Madi Wurst took a shot on the goal, but it did not find the net.  The Patriots pushed ahead as Alejandra Mesa put the ball into the net to give them the early lead at half.

Southern Wesleyan attacked early as Karla Gordon took a shot to lead off the second half.  However, the Francis Marion defense stayed strong to deter the attack from paying off.  Madi Wurst drove the ball to the net, but Makayla Willets got in front of the ball to collect the attack and prevent the Warriors from tying the game up.  The Patriots continued to attack the net with shots by Valentina Restrepo, but the Warriors' back line stay strong.  Despite a late shot by Cayla Hughes, the Warriors dropped the conference came to the Patriots in a 1-0 final.
