Florence, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Francis Marion Patriots on Saturday evening in a 9-0 final score.
The Warriors collected six shots and three shots on goal in the loss to the Patriots.
Feren Nunez led the team with three shots, two of which were on goal. He was followed by
Trey Greenwood with one shot on goal.
Pedro Fonseca and
Tipton Wright also took shots in the game.
Wesley Bigbee started in the goal for Southern Wesleyan and collected two saves.
Will Hughes wrapped up the game in goal and recorded the remaining seven saves of the evening.

How It Happened
Francis Marion attacked quickly on Saturday evening as Hugo Jonsson scored back-to-back goals to put them on top 2-0. The Patriots scored once again this time off the foot of Paul Sapper. The Warriors countered as
Tipton Wright took a shot, but his shot sailed over the net to keep Southern Wesleyan from chipping into the Patriots lead. Francis Marion would not relent their attacks as they had extended their lead to 7-0.
Trey Greenwood sent the ball toward the net, but Andrea Scapolo collected the attack to prevent the Warriors from getting on the board. The Warriors continued to attack as
Feren Nunez sent the ball to the goal, but once again Scapolo saved the attack. The Patriots led 8-0 at the half.
The Patriots maintained their intensity in the second half as Alvaro Zamora and Jhancarlo Palma each took shots on the goal, but
Will Hughes and the Warriors back line saved the attacks from meeting the net.
Pedro Fonseca sent the ball toward the net, but his attack was thwarted to keep the Warriors off the board. Nick Huenig got around the Warriors defense and collected a pass from Luis Villarreal to score the ninth goal for Francis Marion.
Will Hughes and the Warriors stayed strong in the back line as they deterred the shots of Jose Curvelo and Villarreal.
