How It Happened

Lander came out of the gates early with several shots on goal, but Taylor Hanzel was able to thwart their attacks to keep the Bearcats off the board for the first seventeen minutes of the game.  Gracie Beeson took a pass from Mia Piazza to put the Bearcats up 1-0 in the first half.  They continued to push ahead on goal by Romie Llewellyn to give Lander a 2-0 lead at half.

The Bearcats remained on the offensive in the second half with two goals in the first few minutes of the half to push their lead to 4-0.  Southern Wesleyan fought back, but they were unable to get around the Lander defense.  Despite trailing the Bearcats, the Warriors continued to fight as Hope Robson took a shot.  However, the Lander defense would not let the Warriors get on the board as they won the game 6-0.
