Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the University of Mount Olive Trojans in a 15-1 final score on Friday afternoon.
The Warriors took four shots in the loss to the Trojans with three shots on goal.
Kelsey Hawkins had the lone goal of the afternoon with
Betsy Bovee recording the lone assist. Southern Wesleyan had 12 draw controls.
Jairy Sandoval led the team with nine.
Jesse Soles caused two of the four turnovers. Southern Wesleyan had eight ground balls.
Kaeleigh McDaniel played all sixty minutes in goal for the Warriors, collecting 13 saves.

How It Happened
Mount Olive struck first on a goal by Zoe Dougherty and then extended their lead to 2-0 on a goal by Emily Prentice. Southern Wesleyan countered with shots on goal by
Tabitha Beecher and
Jocelyn Cosgrove, but Ciara Moorman saved the ball to keep the Warriors from tying the game up. The Trojans continued to distance themselves with four more goals to push the lead to 6-0 at the half.
Southern Wesleyan charged out of the second half with a shot by
Amy Pfefferkorn, but a free position goal by Kiara Burke allowed the Trojans to push ahead to 7-0. Despite trailing the Trojans, the Warriors would not let up as
Betsy Bovee passed the ball over to
Kelsey Hawkins. Hawkins put it into the back of the cage to put the Warriors down 10-1. The Trojans continued to push ahead to win the game in a 15-1 final.

Southern Wesleyan will remain at home on April 12 as they take on the Converse College Valkyries at 7 p.m. They will wrap up their home games on April 14 as they take on the Newberry Wolves at 6 p.m. The Warriors will conclude the regular season on the road on April 17 as they travel to Cleveland, TN to take on the Lee Flames.
