How It Happened

North Greenville charged out of the gate as they scored within one minute of play off the foot of Carlos Navarro.  Southern Wesleyan countered as a foul in the box allowed Jose Rangel to take a penalty kick, but Noah Kendrick saved the ball.  Tyler Zoucha followed with a shot on goal of his own, but North Greenville and the defense would not let the Warriors tie the game up.  North Greenville maintained the pressure with goals by Connor Hall and Renan Macuglia.  The Warriors were not discouraged as Diego Hernandez got around the defense to put the Warriors down 3-1.  Southern Wesleyan continued to attack as a foul allowed Trey Greenwood to take a free kick for the Warriors.  Greenwood drilled the shot toward the net and Zachary Hurst headed the ball over to Caden DeFronzo.  DeFronzo charged toward the net and headed into the goal to put Southern Wesleyan down 4-2.  Despite a late shot by Jose Rangel, the Crusaders led the Warriors 5-2 at half.

The Crusaders were not discouraged as Navarro and Keletso Mathathe scored back-to-back goals to push North Greenville ahead to 7-2.  North Greenville continued to attack the net, but Will Hughes and the Warriors defense saved the attacks to keep the Crusaders to extending their lead even further.  Southern Wesleyan continued to push ahead with shots by Angel Padilla, Hernandez and Greenwood, but none of their attacks paid off.  North Greenville scored twice more to win the game 9-2.
