Belmont, NC – Southern Wesleyan dropped their final regular season game to the Belmont Abbey Crusaders in a 2-0 final score.
The Warriors had two shots in one shot on goal in the loss to the Crusaders. Both
Diego Hernandez and
Jose Rangel had shots, and Rangel had the lone shot on goal.
Will Hughes played all ninety minutes in goal and collected six saves.

How It Happened
The Crusaders struck early as Maynor Figueroa took a shot, but
Will Hughes saved the ball from meeting the back of the net. Belmont Abbey maintained the attack, taking a 1-0 lead on a goal by Aaron Madison. The Warriors countered with a shot on goal by
Jose Rangel, however Ben Knust saved the ball to keep Southern Wesleyan off the bar. The Crusaders continued to challenge, but Southern Wesleyan's defense kept Belmont Abbey at a 1-0 lead at half.
Belmont Abbey maintained the pressure in the second half as Nate Cox scored the Crusaders scored their second goal of the game. Southern Wesleyan attacked the ball, but Belmont Abbey would not let them gain control. The Crusaders continued to send shots into the net off attempts by Davis McBee, but
Will Hughes would not let them extend their lead further. The Crusaders went on to win the game 2-0.
