Dahlonega, GA – Southern Wesleyan fell to the University of North Georgia Nighthawks on Tuesday evening in a 16-6 final score.
The Warriors had 11 hits in the loss to the Nighthawks with
Tanner Glass leading the team with three hits.
Tyler Rogers doubled during the game. Rogers led the team with three RBIs with
Hunter Garlington following with two. Southern Wesleyan walked four times, and both Rogers and
Dawson Posick were hit by a pitch.
Southern Wesleyan recorded six strikeouts in the loss to North Georgia.
Josh Henshaw started the game for the Warriors.
Devyn Bond pitched 3.2 innings and led the team with three strikeouts. Bond was joined in relief by
Sandy Johnson, Aiden Evans and
Vinny Adams.

How It Happened
North Georgia struck early as they brought two runs in to score in the bottom of the first inning to put the Nighthawks on top 2-0.
Southern Wesleyan countered in the top of the second inning.
Josh Galloway led off with a single to right center and then advanced to second as
Parker Pillsbury walked. With two on and one out, a wild pitch allowed both Galloway and Pillsbury to advance ninety feet.
Hunter Garlington singled up the middle to bring both Galloway and Pillsbury home to tie the game 2-2.
Ty King Richards singled through the left side to advance Garlington to second, and then a walk to
Sean Sutay loaded up the bases.
Tyler Rogers doubled to center field to bring in all three base runners and put the Warriors on top 5-2.
The lead was short lived, as the Nighthawks regained the lead on a hits by LeRoy, Eeles and Hardigree. They continued to push ahead in the bottom of the third as Hardigree hit a home run over the left center field wall to put North Georgia ahead 11-5.
The Warriors pressured back in the top of the fourth inning. With two out and
DJ Ludwick on first base,
Tyler Rogers was hit by pitch to put two runners on base.
Tanner Glass then singled to left field to bring Ludwick home.
North Georgia continued to push ahead, winning the game in a 16-6 final score.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will hit the road on April 9 and 10 as they travel to Wilson, NC to take on the Barton Bulldogs. They will then return home on April 13 as they welcome the Anderson Trojans to Dr. C Keith Connor Field. The Warriors will then host the Toccoa Falls Screaming Eagles on April 16-17.
