Duncan, SC – Southern Wesleyan dropped the first game of the Conference Carolinas Championship Tournament to the University of Mount Olive Trojans on Thursday afternoon in a 15-1 final score.
The Warriors recorded four hits in the loss to the Trojans.
Megan New had the lone RBI while
Delaney Byers came in to score the only runs.
Addi Johnson stole a base during the game.
Ashton Martin started the game with both
Emma Collins and
Megan Vaughn pitching in relief.

How It Happened
Southern Wesleyan took the first run of the game in the top of the first.
Delaney Byers singled to left field and then advanced to third on and error in left field. With one out and Byers in scoring position,
Megan New hit a sacrifice bunt that allowed Byers to come in and score and give the Warriors a one run lead.
However, Mount Olive took the lead in the bottom of the inning off a single by Morgan to bring two runs in. The Trojans continued to push past the Warriors defense with runs in the second, third and fourth innings to win the game in a 15-1 final score.
