Duncan, S.C. - Southern Wesleyan fell to the King Tornado in an 8-1 final on Friday afternoon which would eliminate them from the 2021 Conference Carolinas Softball Tournament.
The Warriors posted four hits in the loss to King.
Megan New,
Emma Collins,
Lydia Clanton, and
Addie Nugent each had one hit and Collins had the lone triple and walk of the afternoon for Southern Wesleyan. Clanton picked up the solo RBI and Collins pitched all seven innings for the Warriors, posting four strikeouts.

How It Happened
The Warriors struck first in the contest as
Emma Collins led off the bottom of the second inning with a stand-up triple.
Lydia Clanton then put the ball in play at second base to pick up the RBI as Collins came in to give Southern Wesleyan the 1-0 advantage. The Tornado answered with a solo homerun from Megan Puckett in the top of the fourth to tie the game at 1-1.
To kick off the top of the fifth inning, the Tornado homered again to take a 2-1 lead before extending that lead to 3-1 with a sacrifice fly by Azlee Sells. Again in the top of the sixth inning Sells doubled to score Rikkelle Miller and Samantha Helms as they went on to take a 5-1 lead. King would add three more runs in the top of the seventh and the Warriors were unable to respond and went on to fall 8-1 to end their season.
