Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan swept the Erskine Flying Fleet in the final two games of the series on Wednesday afternoon in 5-2 and 15-13 final scores.
The Warriors had six hits in the first game of the day with
Sean Sutay leading the team with two. Sutay tripled during the game. Both Sutay and
Tyler Rogers had two RBIs. Southern Wesleyan walked three times and
Dawson Gilstrap stole a base.
Tanner Glass pitched a complete game for the Warriors while only allowing two runs on six hits to pick up the game one victory.
Southern Wesleyan collected 17 hits in the second game with both
Ty King Richards and
Hunter Garlington posted three hits apiece.
Tyler Rogers tripled and
Parker Pillsbury homered. The Warriors walked five times and
Ty King Richards stole a base.
Ryan Moore started the second game and pitched 2.1 innings while striking out three.
Devyn Bond and
Aaron Bennett both came in to pitch in relief. Both Bond and Bennett recorded four strikeouts.

How It Happened
Game One
The Flying Fleet struck first in the top of the first inning. With one on and two out, Dalton Reeves homered to right field to give Erskine a 2-0 lead.
Southern Wesleyan countered in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Tanner Glass led off the bottom of the inning with a walk and then advanced to second on a single by
Josh Galloway.
Parker Pillsbury singled to center field to load up the bases. With the bases loaded and one out,
Tyler Rogers singled to right field to allow both Galloway and Glass to come home to tie the game 2-2.
Dawson Gilstrap followed with a single to center field to bring Pillsbury in. Gilstrap then stole second to put both runners in scoring position.
Sean Sutay ripped the ball to right center for a triple that brought Gilstrap and Rogers home to give the Warriors a 5-2 game one victory.
Game Two
Southern Wesleyan charged out of the gate in the second game of the day.
Sean Sutay led off with a single up the middle and then advanced to second on a ground out by
Ty King Richards. A passed ball allowed Sutay to get into scoring position.
Tanner Glass was hit by a pitch to put runners on the corners. A single by
Josh Galloway allowed Sutay to come in to score.
Parker Pillsbury lined out, but an error on the play allowed both Galloway and Glass to advance a base. With two runners in scoring position,
Hunter Garlington singled through the left side to allow both runners to come in and score. A triple to center field by
Tyler Rogers brought Garlington home to give the Warriors a 4-0 run advantage.
The Flying Fleet countered in the top of the second as Tariq Bacon homered to left field. Erskine took the lead in the top of the second on back-to-back home runs by Cal Bochino and Dontae Wade.
The Warriors regained the lead in the bottom of the third inning.
Tanner Glass led off with a single down the right field line and then advanced to second on a wild pitch. With one out,
Parker Pillsbury hit a home run over the right center field wall to give the Warriors a 6-5 run advantage.
Erskine regained the lead in the top of the fourth off Cal Bochino's second home run of the afternoon. Their lead was short lived as Southern Wesleyan challenged right back in the bottom of the fourth inning. With two out,
Ty King Richards walked and then advanced to second on a single to left field by
Tanner Glass. With Glass at first and King Richards at second,
Josh Galloway singled to center field to allow King Richards to score to tie the game back up 7-7.
Parker Pillsbury followed with a single through the left side to bring Glass in and give the Warriors a one run lead.
The Flying Fleet regained the lead in the top of the fifth inning, but the Warriors would not let up.
Tyler Rogers led off with a walk and then advanced to second on a passed ball. A walk to
Dawson Gilstrap put two runners on with no outs. A wild pitch allowed both runners to advance ninety feet. With one out,
Sean Sutay reached on catcher's interference to load up the bases and bring
Ty King Richards up to bat. King Richards singled up the middle to allow both Gilstrap and Rogers to come in and put the Warriors ahead 10-9.
Southern Wesleyan extended their lead in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Parker Pillsbury led off with a walk and then advanced to third on a single by
Hunter Garlington.
Tyler Rogers hit into a double play, but Pillsbury scored on the play to extend the Warriors lead to 11-9.
However, a two run home run by Dalton Reeves allowed the Flying Fleet to tie the game up eleven runs apiece.
Southern Wesleyan would not be silenced as they fought to regain the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With one out,
Ty King Richards singled to third base and then advanced to second as
Tanner Glass was hit by a pitch. A wild pitch allowed both King Richards and Glass to advance. However,
Josh Galloway hit into a fielder's choice that caused King Richards to be out at home. With runners on the corners,
Parker Pillsbury reached on an error in left field that allowed both Galloway and Glass to score. With Pillsbury at second,
Hunter Garlington singled through the left side to put Southern Wesleyan ahead 14-11.
Erskine chipped away at Southern Wesleyan's lead with back-to-back home runs by Livan Reinos and Drew Yniesta to put the Flying Fleet within one.
The Warriors maintained the intensity in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out,
Zach O'Malley singled to left center and then advanced to second base as
Sean Sutay singled through the left side.
Ty King Richards followed with a single to right center to allow O'Malley to score and put the Warriors ahead by two.
Aaron Bennett returned to the mound and struck out two before Erskine countered with a single. However, Bennett forced the final batter to ground into a fielder's choice to allow the Warriors to walk about with a 15-13 run victory.

Southern Wesleyan will wrap up the regular season on April 24 as they host the Bob Jones Bruins at 1 and 4 p.m.
