How It Happened

Game One
Chowan brought the first run in to score in the top of the first inning, but Southern Wesleyan countered in the bottom of the inning.  DJ Ludwick led off with a double to left center and then stole third to get into scoring position.  Juan Garcia followed with a walk and then stole second.  Tanner Glass then walked to load up the bases and bring Josh Galloway up to bat.  Galloway hit a sacrifice fly to right field that brought Ludwick in to score and tie the game up 1-1.  Parker Pillsbury was hit by a pitch to load up the bases once again and bring Hunter Garlington up to bat.  Garlington walked to bring Garcia in.  With two outs, Ty King Richards singled to bring Glass in to score.  A walk to Sean Sutay allowed Pillsbury to come in and put the Warriors on top 4-1.

The Warriors pushed further ahead in the bottom of the second.  With one out, Tanner Glass singled and then advanced to third on back-to-back passed balls.  Josh Galloway walked to put runners on the corners and bring Parker Pillsbury up to bat.  Pillsbury hit into a sacrifice fly to bring Glass in and give the Warriors a 5-1 run lead.

In the bottom of the fourth inning with two out, Tanner Glass singled.  A walk to Josh Galloway put two runners on the bases and bring Parker Pillsbury to the plate.  Pillsbury drilled a double to right field to bring both Glass and Galloway in to score to extend the Warriors lead to 7-1.

Chowan scored their second run of the game in the top of the fifth inning.  In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Warriors struck again.  Juan Garcia led off with a single and then advanced to second on an error.  Without the Hawks noticing, Garcia proceeded to steal third base to bring Tanner Glass up to bat.  Glass grounded out to third to bring Garcia home to give the Warriors an 8-2 victory.

Game Two
The Hawks struck in the second game of the afternoon, plating four runs in the top of the first inning.  They continued to extend their lead in the top of the second inning as they brought five more runs in to take a 9-0 lead over the Warriors.  Chowan scored once more in the top of the fourth.

Southern Wesleyan countered in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Nolan Steevens led off with a walk and then advanced to second on a single by DJ Ludwick.  With two on and one out, Tanner Glass singled.  On the single by Glass, both Steevens and Ludwick advanced one base, but then a throwing error allowed Steevens to score.  A sacrifice fly out by Josh Galloway allowed Ludwick to come in and put the Warriors down 10-2.
