Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Toccoa Falls Screaming Eagles on Friday in a 16-7 final score.
The Warriors recorded 11 hits in the loss with
Josh Galloway leading the team with three. Both
Parker Pillsbury and
Ty King Richards followed with two hits. Galloway recorded two doubles and a home run. Pillsbury also doubled in the game. Galloway had three of the seven RBIs. Three Warriors walked and both
DJ Ludwick and King Richards stole bases during the game.
Vinny Adams started on the mound for the Warriors. Both
Devyn Bond and
Josh Henshaw came in to pitch in relief. Bond pitched 5.1 innings while striking out five. Henshaw closed out the game for Southern Wesleyan with two strikeouts over 1.2 innings pitched.

How It Happened
Toccoa Falls took the first runs of the game in the top of the second inning. Singles by Vazquez-Garcia and Jones brought in the first four runs of the game off singles. The Screaming Eagles maintained the pressure to take a 5-0 run lead.
Southern Wesleyan countered in the bottom of the second.
Josh Galloway led off with a walk and then advanced to second on a single by
Parker Pillsbury. With two on and one out,
Ty King Richards singled to left field to load up the bases.
Sean Sutay drilled a ball to left field to allow both Pillsbury and Galloway to come in and put the Warriors down 5-2.
The Warriors tied the game up in the bottom of the third inning. With one out,
Tanner Glass reached on an error, and then advanced to second on the play.
Josh Galloway doubled to right center to bring Glass in. With Galloway on second,
Parker Pillsbury doubled to left field to allow Galloway to come in to put the Warriors within one of the Screaming Eagles. A single by
Sawyer Price put runners on the corners and bring
Ty King Richards up to bat. King Richards hit a sacrifice fly to center field to allow Pillsbury to come home and tie the game 5-5.
Toccoa Falls regained the lead in the top of the fourth and then took an 8-5 run lead in the top of the fifth inning. Southern Wesleyan challenged in the bottom of the fifth inning as
Josh Galloway homered to left field to put the Warriors within two.
Toccoa Falls would not let up the pressure as they brought three more runs in to score in the top of sixth inning. Runs in the top of the eighth and ninth inning pushed the Screaming Eagles lead to 16-6.
Southern Wesleyan challenged in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Will Pitts led off with a single to center field and then came in to score on a double by
Josh Galloway to put the final score at 16-7.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will wrap up the series against Toccoa Falls on April 17 at 1 and 4 p.m. They will remain at home as they host the Anderson Trojans on April 20, and the Erskine Flying Fleet on April 21. Southern Wesleyan will wrap up the regular season on April 21 as they host the Bob Jones Bruins at Dr. C Keith Connor Field.
