Warriors Shut Out Crusaders

Tigerville, SC – Southern Wesleyan swept the North Greenville Crusaders on Tuesday in a 7-0 final.

How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan charged out of the gate on Tuesday as they swept all three doubles matches to pick up the doubles point.  Sarvesh Maria and Jonas Grasmuck defeated Alex Kostka and Giacomo Garini in the No. 1 Doubles spot in a 6-2 final.  Peter Kovats and Enzo Marcheschi also picked up a doubles victory as they defeated Tuur Vos and Kyle Paschan in a 6-2 final.  The Cruaders challenged in the third doubles match, but Joseph Olatunji and Fabian Segreda ended up on top in a 6-4 final.

The Warriors remained on the offensive in singles play against the Crusaders.  In the No. 1 Singles position, Jonas Grasmuck picked up a pair of 6-3 victories.  Sarvesh Maria played in the No. 2 Singles spot, defeating Giacomo Garini in 6-3 and 6-2 finals.  Senior Peter Kovats won his matches in 6-1 and 6-4 finals.  The Crusaders challenged in the No. 4 Singles position as Lucas Cardoso forced the first set against Julio Lopes Polesi, but Lopes Polesi ended up on top in 7-5 and 6-2 final scores.  Joseph Olatunji won his singles match 6-1 and 6-2, and Fabian Segreda claimed his singles victory in 6-2 and 6-4 finals.

 
What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will remain on the road on April 16 and 17 as they wrap up the regular season.  The Warriors will travel to Banner Elk, NC on April 16 to take on the Lees-McRae Bobcats at noon.  They will then travel to Bristol, TN to take on the King Tornado on April 17.
