Columbia, SC – Southern Wesleyan competed in the Gamecock Invitational on Saturday and finished with several top marks.

Track Events
100 Meters:
Kayla Achenbach took 16
th in the 100 meters as she finished with a time of 12.08.
200 Meters: Southern Wesleyan was led by
Kayla Achenbach in the 200 meters with a time of 25.49 to put her in a 36. She was followed by
Lauryn Tate and
Carmen DeVries. Tate took 55
th with a time of 26.16 and DeVries took 58 with a time of 26.22. Blessing Laudermilich took 68 with a time of 26.87, and
Lycia Zavala finished in 69
th with a time of 26.92.
400 Meters:
Jami Wright finished in ninth in the 400 meters as she finished with a time of 55.07. Wright was followed by
Michele Beugre in 16
th with a time of 57.78.
Carmen DeVries and
Lycia Zavala were the next two Warriors to finish as DeVries took 31
st with a time of 1:00.50 and Zavala took 35
th with a time of 1:01.23.
Lauryn Tate finished in 40
th with a time of 1:02.67, and
Avrel Jean took 55
th with a time of 1:12.68.
400 Meter Hurdles: In the 400 meter hurdles,
Keyanna Williams finished in 12
th with a time of 1:07.67.
1500 Meters:
Taylor Broadwell led the Warriors in the 1500 meters as she finished with a time of 5:17.95.
4x400 Meter Relay: Southern Wesleyan's 4x400 meter relay team of
Keyanna Williams,
Jami Wright,
Lauryn Tate and
Carmen DeVries finished in 10th with a time of 3:59.44.
Field Events
Hammer Throw: In the hammer throw,
Hannah Hall took 19
th with a throw of 35.42 meters.
Pole Vault: Senior
Haley McLaughlin finished in 20
th place with a vault of 3.01 meters.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will return to Columbia, SC as they take part in the USC Open to close out the regular season. They will then take part in the Conference Carolinas Championship on April 23-24 in Mount Olive, NC.
