How It Happened
Peter Kovats and
Enzo Marcheschi claimed the lone doubles victory for the Warriors. Playing in the No. 2 position, Kovats and Marcheschi won out against Brad Beck and Hugh Ryder in a 6-2 final.
Jonas Grasmuck and
Sarvesh Maria challenged Diego Agudelo and Matteo Savio before dropping the No 1. Doubles set in a 7-5 final.
Southern Wesleyan took four of the six singles match-ups against Barton.
Jonas Grasmuck took the victory in the No. 1 singles as he defeated Diego Agudelo in 6-4 and 7-5 finals. Following Grasmuck,
Peter Kovats was challenged by Barton's Philip Nordberg. Kovats dropped the first set 3-6, before claiming the next two in a 6-4 and 7-5 scores. Both
Sarvesh Maria and
Julio Lopes Polesi forced their singles match to go to three. Both finished with 6-2, 1-6 and 6-2 final scores to give the Warriors four singles victories.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will host the Emmanuel Lions on March 30 for their final home match of the season. They will then travel to Tigerville, SC on April 13 as they take on the Crusaders of North Greenville. The Warriors will close out the season on the road as they take on the Lees-McRae Bobcats and King Tornado.
